ABOUT TO CHANGE FOREVER.
DEFINING VOICE INFRASTRUCTURE

Let’s set the table. What exactly is Voice Infrastructure?
Voice infrastructure is many different things. It’s a fabric - the software, the network, the connectivity, the support, the equipment. It’s everything that’s required to deliver vocal communications from point A to point B - in all its forms. That can include switching platforms. That can include routing platforms. That can include trouble remediation. That can include physical hardware. So all of it - hardware, software, network. That’s Voice Infrastructure.
How does Voice Infrastructure function in the modern telecommunications world?
Voice infrastructure plays a more important role than ever in the history of telecommunication. Because all those systems I just defined are constantly evolving. And they're evolving no differently than the way voice is communicated and transversed on networks.
So let me elaborate a little bit on that. I subscribe to the concept that business is a contact sport, and nothing replaces contact more than physical interaction, or these days, maybe a virtual meeting. Short of that, the next rung on the ladder is voice communications. Voices interacting in real time, with no tolerance for delay, as is accepted with other forms of communications such as text, email and other app chats. In those circumstances delay is tolerated and expected, even. But not with voice. It’s real time, real connection. And there was a time when voice was the most highly trusted form of communication. Decades ago, when the kitchen phone rang - on a rotary dial phone, or even the first cordless phones - there was no question that who was calling was verified and you could pick up. And unless they dialed the wrong number, you were protected. It was a very secure call. As we've passed forward into new technologies, the ability to perfect your security in those calls and that traffic has become more suspect and more open to not being trusted. That’s an issue we take very seriously at 46 Labs.
Explain how 46 Labs is evolving Voice Infrastructure?
We play a role in the evolution of voice and how it's communicated, in business and in the service provider community. We’re consistently and constantly leveraging our full telecommunication stack of services to orchestrate a myriad of technologies that provide voice communications suited for today’s systems.
And by that, what do I mean? Well, let’s look to the past first. In the old days, it was a TDM circuit switch network. It was one hardware-based platform. You dialed, it rang a phone and you answered the phone. In today's environment, we still have some of these legacy communications that operate partially on that system. But also, we have next-generation platforms that have moved into the SIP realm that are soft-switched, VoIP technologies. We also have application-centric voice that's delivered over-the-top through different mediums - whether that's internet, private network or some other form of digital transport media. Then finally, there’s voice that’s more of an API experience tethered to applications, like CRM or Contact Centers. Or, other service applications that incorporate a voice number and call into a service suite.
That’s what makes 46 Labs unique. Our PeerEdge Voice Infrastructure encompasses all forms of voice communications, pushing workload security and processing as close to the edge as possible - while still allowing management of SED through a single pane of glass with a singular control interface that provides ultimate security and resource allocation across all genres of communications. Yes, that's a tall order, but that's what the world looks like today. It’s very messy. Especially for the Fortune 500, Fortune 300 and large enterprises. These companies operate with a myriad of disparate technologies, disparate software and disparate applications. And 46 Labs is the engine that allows those to be managed from a single point. Securely, and operationally and cost efficiently.
Where do you 46 Labs playing a role in the future of Voice Infrastructure and Technology?
Well, what's made 46 Labs extremely successful is our ability to bridge the past with the future. Think of 46 Labs as the infrastructure that enables modernization to take advantage of the latest technologies, the latest applications, without sacrificing or forklifting or running a backhoe through your existing communications apparatus. We take you from the old to the new, and our technology allows you to build a transitory bridge to get there cost efficiently, securely, with minimal capital outlay - regardless of how the technology continues to change and morph into different forms of delivery and management based on the prevailing technology curve. That's not going to change. What’s also not going to change is 46 Labs’ ability to keep pace with technological change. As well as our commitment to providing cost-effective managed services - enabling large corporations and service providers to access their networks and the connectivity required to deliver their applications on a world-class, highly-secure level.
