THE SOLUTION FOR Cost Effective LATA Access.

LEC class-4 switches are required for interconnecting with other tandems and points of presence for interexchange carriers (IXC) in the case of access tandems.

However, ILEC tandems are often TDM/SS7 only switches, posing an interconnection challenge in terms of operational expense and expertise for maintenance and support.

Accordingly, access to/from ILEC tandems is problematic, leading to few access choices, and therefore limited call routing options, for CLECs, IXCs, and independent telecom companies.
